Last night's kick-off of Philly Fashion Week was strictly devoted to local designers (including one of my favorites, Melissa D’Agostino). The Armory was filled with fashion mavens, not just behind the scenes or on the runway, but in the crowd, too! That was just an appetizer, and I was ready for the main course! First up, Arcadia Boutique, which featured loads of color and impressive detailing! Styles included loose-fitting garments, feminine dresses, masculine boots and jackets – and funky tie-dye and knitted frocks courtesy of D’Agostino Textile Designs!
Carmelita Couture took center stage next, and I have to say the line ended the evening perfectly with fab gaga-esque get-ups. The collection featured metallic ensembles, naughty-leather body suits and skin-tight bodices. The looks were so breathe taking, I thought I was going to experience my first fashion overdose!
If you plan on attending the show thru Saturday, here are a few things to keep in mind. Before, after or in between shows, there's a cool bar placed just in the center of the location and vendors for your shopping convenience. Oh, but if you have to use the ladies' or gents' there are portables in the alley!
